Overall Project Completion
Thane Municipal Corporation is an urban local body, whose one of the responsibility is the cleanliness of the entire city. Approximate 6.5 lakhs people daily use Thane Railway station, state transport station (ST stand) and local transport around the city. Thane is the central location for these commuters to go to their destination. That’s why it is very important that sanitation facilities be located in the ABD area to cater to the need of people travelling in and around the city. Subsequently, 12 such locations were identified for the construction of 12 urban restrooms.
Following are the facilities provided to the people :

- Hand wash basin with all fixtures

- Waiting lounge (charging point for mobile phones, laptops and locker room facility)

- Entrance foyer

- Sanitary napkin vending machine

- Barrier-free access for differently-abled and the elderly

- Bio-digester system

- Lighting and ventilation
- Diaper changing station cum feeding room
The locations of the sites wherein the Urban Restrooms are being constructed are as follows:

- Construction of urban restroom near Gyansadhana College in Smart City ABD area in Thane City
